Regarding the name: it's not a naive, juvenille punk outcry about going against the norm simply to go against it; doing so is, in fact, conforming in
itself. Mostly, it's about finding yourself regardless of whatever other people think and not following anything - or anyone - blindly. This stems from
anything as simple as clothes, music choice, circle of friends, to more complicated ideas: religion, politics, etc. I believe you should always question and
always choose what is in YOUR best interest, and take anything any person tries to sell you on with a grain of salt. Never be afraid to ask questions or speak
your mind.
Since I mentioned religion, I thought I'd clarify as it is a touchy subject for most. When I say question religion, I don't mean whatever deity you
worship; I mean you should always question the person in front of you preaching it. That's not to say that every spiritual teacher has ulterior motives;
just that they are out there, and to keep your eyes open towards such people. After all, Christianity (and most religions, I think) are based upon the fact
that man is indeed fallible.
Anyway, about me: I've played guitar since the age of 14, I ramble way too much, and in pretty much everything I've taken an interest in in life, I had
a different outlook and way to put things into words that most people either couldn't see or simply couldn't say. I've always had a tendency to
pass this information onto others. Occasionally, this leads to some people thinking I'm arrogant; however, this never is an intention of mine, and I
apologize in advance if you think I come off that way.

I had to fiddle around with mine when I grew them out as well. I never wore them very wide (always stayed within the hairline my head hair). Give them some time, though -- I think they'll grow on you!

I gotta say, I think your Van Dyck's shaping up very nicely! Like I said in your last update, keep with the 'burns. I think you'll be pleased with 'em!
